Fifth Grade

Riley is SOOOOO excited to start 5th grade tomorrow. She went to bed at 9 and I went in to check on her at like 9:45 and she was still wide awake. She is definitely too excited to sleep. New school, new teachers, and new friends. She is sooooo excited. I think she is a smidge nervous too but I believe she is mostly excited too. She is so big now - it's crazy

Weekend

Hey there. Bree, Ry, and I got to watch the Cowboys game on Friday night. Excited that my new "home" team won the pre-season game 30-10 in the new stadium. We wanted to go so bad! The ticket prices were not too bad but the parking was triple the price of the tickets.... It's like $75 for parking around the new stadium. Isn't that crazy???

The television was probably a better view anyways. Sometimes your couch is the place to be for that stuff. No crowds or obnoxious drunk people. No traffic... and you can fall asleep as soon as you get sleepy.

Saturday was busy. Bree and I organized our 3rd meetup gathering for the meetup group Bree started. This month was BBQ in Frisco Commons. It was so fun and nice. LOVED IT. Lots of laughter and great convos.

After the meetup, we were supposed to go to the party at Ashley's house. The party was for Trish (for her birthday). When we left the park, I called Ashley, but she was not ready for guests yet. We decided to go on home and put the stuff from the BBQ away. I feel bad I could not make an appearance at the party for Trish, but once we got home to put away the goods from the meetup BBQ we were all too tired to get back out. While we were on the way home, I realized my wallet was missing!

I called Tom Thumb where I had stopped earlier for some last minute BBQ goods and I had indeed left it there. I had to drive back out to where the park was to the Tom Thumb Grocery store to pick up my wallet. I was definitely relieved and grateful that it was in safe hands.

After the bbq, we pretty much went home, put away stuff, straightened up a bit, and went to bed.

Hmmm... today.... we went to target. Got Riley a few clothes. Me and Riley both got our eyebrows threaded. We got Riley 2 pairs of jeans and a cute tee from Hollister. The line for the threading was crazy long. There was a guy getting threaded which I think is fanstastic. But, if you are having to hold your girlfriends hand then you are not cool enough - you are a pussy

Let's see - once we did all that - we saw "The Time Traveler's Wife" at AMC. Okay, just my thoughts, it is a really good movie but I would recommend to others to wait until it comes out on DVD. Not that it was not a good movie because, like I said, the movie is very good. I just think it was not quite worth $8 bucks a ticket kind of good.

Now, we are home. Bree made some bangin tuna casserole for dinner. We watched the Miss Universe pageant. I was really hoping to see someone fall, trip, or severely fuck up a interview question, but none of that happened tonight. We also watched Khloe & Kourtney - Taking Miami show.

Birthday Sunday....

Slept in again.

When I got up, Bree and Riley had set up a buffet of presents on the dining room table. It was the sweetest thing ever. I opened cards and presents straight out of bed. It was like Christmas morning.

I had a Bicycle sitting there which is AWESOME because I have wanted a bicycle for a minute! I also got a Kenneth Cole watch, a new messenger bag, a Coach purse, the new Kat Von D book, an outfit from my grandmother, and another book and gives daily messages to think about. "It's never too late"

A couple sweet cards from my girls. Oh, and I forgot to say on my previous entry that Saturday night they got a cake for me with candles. The cake and candles were both so me. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and dime sized sprinkle objects. All of my favorite colors. Love it

Later Sunday afternoon we all met Ashley and Ryan for lunch at Jerseyville. After lunch, we all went to see the new Harry Potter film on XD screen. It was my favorite Harry Potter movie so far. Although, all the avid Harry Potter readers and fans seemed slightly dissapointed.

We came home and chilled out for the rest of the night

Birthday Continued

We came home from game night and got some rest after, of course, playing online for a few hours and catching up on sorority life. It only takes like 5 minutes to drain 84 units of energy... and then 5 whole minutes to accumulate ONE unit back.

Saturday we slept in until 11am. We got up and cleaned most of the house!!! After that we got ready and went to play tennis at Little Elm High. We were all having a good time. Riley and I were on one side and Bree on the other. Bree is such a competitive spirit that when she went for the ball once, she ran into the fence and hit her arm.

Within 3 to 4 minutes after the arm hitting the fence she had a giant goose egg on the anterior side of her right arm, 2 inches above the crease. We thought for a minute we needed to go to the ER. But after some ice and TLC, the swelling started to go down a little by the evening

Later we made dinner and watched "Chaos Theory". The movie was not the great. It was very B level and tried so deperately to be indie and artsy but, simply, wasn't.

More computer time...

Absurd . LOL

Best Birthday Weekend Ever... Starting with game night

Wow.... I had the best time this past weekend. Friday night (July 17th), me, Bree, and Ry went over to Trish's house for a game night. We were originally supposed to have made Bree's homemade mac n cheese but Bree got out of work a bit late. This left no time for the homemade mac and cheese. We stopped at Albertson's and picked up a mexican appetizer platter and a buffalo wings platter. The main dish was tacos and enchilada's being made by Trish and Ashley. We went to the party and everyone started making thier plates right away! The enchilada's were my favorite... sorry Ashley.

Riley played Wii most of the evening while the adults worked on Scattegories and Taboo. Bree and I WON at Taboo!!! Woo Hoo. That made me happy. Then we played scattegories. I sucked at that game but Bree did pretty good.

It was awesome to continue getting to know Ryan and Ashley better. They are awesome to hang with. Trish seemed at home with a big crowd over. I loved getting some one on one time with Jordie - I wanted to keep her.
